Collier Swecker video blogs about the “saw tooth” real estate market that we are currently in. This is a very deceptive real estate market because every time we see housing prices increase we see them decrease just as quickly. This is because when properties in a certain area start to sell, the prices of the current inventory of homes rise as a result of less inventory and perceived demand in that area. What happens next is that when non-selling home owners see prices starting to rise, many of them decide that it is a great time to sell their home and throw their home on the market for sale. As a result the inventory of homes in that area increase once again and prices go right back down. It is a cycle that we have seen over the last year and will probably see for at least 2 or 3 more years.
