Collier Swecker video blogs about how so many home purchasers market paying cash for a home (as opposed to getting a mortgage) think that by doing so they are entitled to a steep discount since no mortgage or bank is involved. Sellers really do not care if the money at the closing table comes from the home buyers bank -mortgage company or whether it was cash from their savings account. Its all the same to the Seller. Don’t get me wrong you need to use the fact that you are paying cash as part of your negotiation. It makes you more likely to be able to close the transaction and probably will get you a small discount because the Seller is less worried about actually getting to closing.
