While I have never met a home purchaser or home seller that was not somewhat anxious to hear a response from the other side, many buyers and sellers are frequently putting 12 hour to 18 hour deadlines in offers and counter-offers. Home sellers and home buyers should be cautioned to use response deadlines only when absolutely necessary or when they and/or their agent is sure that it is a smart strategic move that will assist them in achieving the negotiated outcome they desire.
